The House met pursuant to adjournment in the hall of the New State House, at ten o'clock, A. M.

Prayer by Rev. Thomas Lee.

A call of the House was had, when seventy-seven members answered to their names-Messrs. Burns, Burton, Carlin, Clark of Gallia, Corry, Goudy, Grier, Hamilton, Hendren, Holbrook, Holmes, Hume, Hutcheson of Washington, Littler, Loveland, McElwee, Mendenhall of Columbiana, Mills, Mygatt, Patterson, Peck, Shaw, Smith of Montgomery, Spelman, Tenney, Thompson of Brown, Thompson of Meigs, and Upham being absent, and Messrs. Andrews, and Watson not yet

sworn in.

On motion of Mr. Cadwell,

The rules were so far suspended as to dispense with the usual morning business.
The following messages were received from the Senate.

The Senate is now in session, pursuant to adjournment, and ready to proceed to

business.

The Senate has passed the following joint resolution, in which the concurrence of the House is requested :

Resolved, That a committee consisting of two on the part of the Senate and — on the part of the House be appointed to wait on the Governor and inform him that the two houses are assembled in pursuance of adjournment, and ready to receive any communication which he may deem proper to make.

The committee on the part of the Senate consists of Messrs. Taylor of Mahoning and Bundy.
