It is needless to say that the affair was a huge success from every point of view, and was much enjoyed by all present. The speaking was very interesting and instructive and was listened to with much pleasure, but the real pleasure of the evening began when the guests were turned over to Brother C. A. Osborne, chairman of the entertainment committee, who sustained his past reputation on like occasions for making the guests enjoy themselves. The delegates from the B. of R. C. were Brothers Alford, Cook, Weston, Drake and Culpepper, and the Grand Lodge was represented by Brothers McLeod and Gilmore. Therefore, be it Resolved, that a vote of thanks be extended to Portsmouth Lodge No. 441, I. A. of M., for their hospitality upon this occasion, and that a copy of these resolutions be sent to them, that a copy be sent to the B. of R. C. Journal for publica. tion and that a copy be placed on file. Respectfully submitted, CHAS. H. CULPEPPER, Committee. It seems strange that the harder a man works for the interests of the order, that there is always someone ready to give him a knock at every opportunity. We don't mind it so much now, however, as we have been jabbed in the ribs so often that we don't feel good unless we get poked once in a while. |
