WHILE Sermons of a high character issue from the Press from time to

time, specimens at once of talent, of eloquence, and of deep research and learning,—I have been told by some friends, and they possibly may be right, that the following plain and familiar expositions of a most interesting Chapter in Scripture, and one which seems to require some explanation, may not prove quite unnoticed or be without a chance of usefulness, if haply here and there a friend or a stranger may be induced to peruse them.
