members incorporate in the mystical body of thy Son, which is the blessed company of all faithful people; and are also heirs through hope of thy everlasting kingdom, by the merits of the most precious death and passion of thy dear Son. And we most humbly beseech thee, O heavenly Father, so to assist us with thy grace, that we may continue in that holy fellowship, and do all such good works as thou hast prepared for us to walk in; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

PRAYER yet again must be thine, O my soul, but prayer with praise combined. Thy Saviour's words have raised thee up to heaven in thought. Linger yet there; and while to the eye of thy faith the bright and glorious things of heaven are seen as thine own inheritance in Christ,

ask of the Father, ask of the heavenly King, of whose feast thou hast been partaker, ask Him to accept thy "sacrifice of prayer and praise." Ask Him to give unto thee, and to all thy fellow guests, "remission of sins," and "all the benefits" which flow from the sacrifice of Christ. For His great sacrifice, the one, the only saving sacrifice, ask it: and then with the memory of that sacrifice, of all the bitterness of the cross on which He offered it; of the burden of the sins which on it He bore; of what He suffered for thee, giving Himself for thee; then offer thyself as a sacrifice to GOD. Be not afraid to offer it -He will accept it. Thou art His-He has a right claim upon thee. If thou givest thyself to Him, thou givest to Him what is His-not thine. Only in mercy and goodness He loves for the Christ's sake to receive His own from His own,

given back to Him in love. Give therefore thyself to Him who created, redeemed, sanctified thee; thus making thee threefold His own, by Himself, thy Maker, by His Son, thy Redeemer, and by His Holy Spirit, thy Sanctifier; grafting thee in upon the true Vine-even Jesus; and adopting thee as a child of His love. Hold not back; give thyself to Him, for who can be unto thee such a Lord and Master as the Lord who hath loved thee so well, and loves thee still in Christ? Whose service can be so glorious a service as His which embraces in it angel and archangel, all the glorious hosts of heaven, and all the saints? From whom canst thou hope to receive so great a gift as that which He offers, even the gift of Eternal Life? The gift, for thou couldest never so love and serve Him as to gain it for thy right. He asks for thy love, and is ready to give thee

of His love wherewith thou mayest be able to love Him. He asks for thy service, and is ready with His divine grace so to assist thee, that He may give thee His gift of Eternal Life.

Give therefore thyself, O my soul to Him, and be this thy prayer. Lord, I give myself to Thee. Accept me in Thy beloved, and grant to me, and to all Thy people everywhere, Thy preventing, Thy sustaining grace, that we may never wander from the Saviour's fold; but, being one in our holy fellowship, may as one band do all good works, and, pleasing Thee here, take up for ever the song of praise in heaven.

The words of prayer again I've raised
Unto my Father's throne;

For all His mercies God be praised,

Which He to us has shown.

With heavenly food our souls He feeds,
Food gained us by Christ's love :
He sees, He knoweth all our needs,
And answers from above.

Answers with more than tongue can tell,
More than the mind conceive;

His blessings tell us, All is well
To those who Christ receive.

THE ASCRIPTION OF GLORY.

Then shall be said or sung,

GLORY be to God on high, and in earth peace, good will towards men. We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.

O Lord, the only-begotten Son Jesu Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of
