Senate amendments to House bill No. 324 were taken up for consideration.

The question being, Will the Senate adhere to its amendments? a vote was had and the Senate refused to recede.

Ordered that the Secretary inform the House thereof.

Mr. Murdock moved that the rules be suspended, and House bills Nos. 187, 83, 346, 203, 197, 338, 88, 323, 402, 276, 342, 241, 315, 184, 177, and 160, and Senate bills Nos. 100, 157, and 117, be considered engrossed and read the third time now, which motion prevailed, and House bill No. 187, "An act to legalize the issue of certain school bonds issued by a vote of the people in school district No. 16, Douglas county, Kansas," was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 20; nays, 0.

Gentlemen voting in the affirmative were: Messrs. Blair, Brandley, Butler, Barker, Edwards, Guerin, Judd, Martindale, McFarland, Moonlight, Morrill, Murdock, O'Neil, Price, Rogers, Simons, St. John, Wilson, J. C., Wilson, V. P., and Winter.

Gentlemen absent or not voting were: Messrs. Crichton, Ely, Grimes, Johnson, Martin, Matheny, McWirt, Palmer, Schmidt, Simpson, Topping, Walker, and York.

And so, a constitutional majority having voted in favor of the passage of the bill, the bill passed and the title was agreed to.

House bill No. 83, "An act to define the boundaries of the twelfth judicial district, and to regulate the terms of court therein," was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 19; nays, 0.

Senate bill No. 117, "An act to authorize counties and cities to fund matured indebtedness," was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 6; nays, 15.

Gentlemen voting in the affirmative were: Messrs. Butler, Barker, Guerin, Price, St. John, and Wilson, V. P.

Gentlemen voting in the negative were: Messrs. Blair, Brandley, Edwards, Ely, Grimes, Judd, Martindale, Moonlight, Morrill, Murdock, O'Neil, Simons, Topping, Wilson, J. C., and Winter.

And so, a constitutional majority not having voted in favor of the passage of the bill, the bill did not pass.

House bill No. 346, "An act to legalize the action of the town company of Howard City, in the county of Howard, State of Kansas," was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 21; nays, 0.

House bill No. 197, "An act to authorize the township of Wellington, in the county of Sumner, to issue bonds to erect a court house for the use and benefit of the county of Sumner," was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 17; nays 1.

Gentlemen voting in the affirmative were: Messrs. Barker, Edwards, Grimes, Guerin, Judd, Martindale, McFarland, Moonlight, Morrill, Murdock, O'Neil, Rogers, Simons, St. John, Wilson, J. C., Wilson, V. P., and Winter.

Mr. Topping voted in the negative.

Mr. Murdock moved to amend the title as follows: "An act to provide for the erection of court houses in certain counties," which motion prevailed.

The title as amended was agreed to.

Ordered that the Secretary inform the House thereof.

House bill No. 338, "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the city of Eudora,'" was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 18; nays, 0.

House bill No. 402, "An act to legalize roads and highways in Bourbon county, Kansas," was read the third time, and the question being, Shall the bill pass? the roll was called with the following result: Yeas, 18; nays, 0.
