So it was Resolved, That there be printed one hundred thousand extra copies, for the use of the members of the House, of the reports of the majority and minority of the select committee, of which Mr. Covode is chairman, appointed under the resolution of the 5th of March last, together with the evidence taken during the investigation. Mr. Gurley moved that the vote last taken be reconsidered, and also moved that the motion to reconsider be laid on the table; which latter motion was agreed to. Mr. Gurley, from the Committee on Printing, to whom the subject was referred, reported the following resolution, viz: Resolved, That there be printed, for the use of the members of the House, twenty-five thousand extra copies of the bill and reports prepared by the committee on the Pacific railroad. Pending which, Mr. Gurley moved the previous question. Pending which, Mr. Barksdale moved, at 9 o'clock and 37 minutes p. m., that the House adjourn; which motion was disagreed to. Washburne moved that the rules be suspended, so as to discharge the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union from the further consideration of the bill of the House (H. Mr. Davidson, from the Committee on Enrolled Bills, reported that the committee had examined and found truly enrolled bills of the following titles, viz: H. R. 395. An act for the relief of Chauncey W. Fuller; and H. R. 305. An act making appropriations for the support of the army for the year ending the 30th of June, 1861. When The Speaker signed the same. Mr. Hoard having stated that his vote was erroneously recorded on the motion submitted yesterday by Mr. Nelson to suspend the rules, By unanimous consent the journal of that day was corrected accordingly. The Speaker, by unanimous consent, laid before the House a letter from the Secretary of War, transmitting, in compliance with a resolution of the House of the 12th instant, all correspondence on file in his department, not heretofore published, having reference to General Harney's administration of the department of Oregon; which was laid on the table, and ordered to be printed. A message from the Senate, by Mr. Patton, one of their clerks: Mr. Speaker: I am directed by the Senate to notify the House of their order to print a certain document. The Senate have passed a bill of this House of the following title, viz: H. R. 513. An act for the relief of Hockaday & Liggit; with an amendment; in which I am directed to ask the concurrence of this House. The Senate have disagreed to the amendment of this House to the 6th amendment of the Senate to the bill of the House (H. R. 500) making appropriations for the naval service for the year ending June 30, 1861; insist on their amendments disagreed to by the House; ask a conference with the House on the disagreeing votes of the two houses thereon, and have appointed Mr. Mallory, Mr. Bigler, and Mr. Hamlin the managers at the said conference on the part of the Senate. On motion of Mr. Sherman, by unanimous consent, Ordered, That the House insists on its amendments, disagreed to by the Senate, to the 6th amendment of the Senate to the said bill of the House No. 500, and also insists on its disagreement to the amendments of the Senate insisted on by the Senate, and agree to the conference asked by the Senate on the disagreeing votes of the two houses thereon. Ordered, That Mr. Morse, Mr. Winslow, and Mr. C. F. Adams be the managers at the said conference on the part of the House. Ordered, That the Clerk acquaint the Senate therewith. The Speaker having announced as the business first in order the motion submitted by Mr. Ellihu B. Washburne, and pending when the House adjourned yesterday, to suspend the rules— Mr. Ellihu B. Winter Davis moved that the rules be suspended, so as to enable him to introduce a bill "authorizing a loan and providing for the redemption of treasury notes," and to enable the House to consider the same at this time.
