In accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the state of Illinois, the nineteenth General Assembly of said state convened, in their first session, at the state house, in the city of Springfield, on Monday, the 1st day of January, A. D. 1855.

The House being called to order at 11 o'clock, A. M.,

On motion of Mr. Logan,

Mr. Boal of Marshall was elected speaker pro tem.

Or motion of Mr. Richmond of Cook,

Edwin T. Bridges of La Salle was appointed clerk pro tem.

On motion of Mr. Logan,

The clerk was directed to call the roll, and the following members answered to their names.

Messrs. Allen of Madison, Baker, Boal, Brown of Knox, Cline, Courtney, Day, Dunlap, Diggins, Foss, Foster, Gray, Grove, Hackney, Henry, Henderson, Hill, Hinch, Johns, Lawrence, Little, Logan, Lovejoy, Lyman, McClun of Edgar, McClun of McLean, McClure of Clark, McCrillis, Moulton, Parks of Logan, Parks of Will, Patton, Pinckney, Preston, Richmond of Cook, Riblett, Sargent, Strawn, Strunk, Sullivan, Swan, Turner, Wheeler.

There failing to be a quorum of members present,

On motion of Mr. Logan,

The House adjourned until 1 P. M.

ONE O'CLOCK, p. m.

The House was called to order by the Speaker pro tem., and the clerk was directed to call the roll; and there being no quorum present,

On motion,

The Honse adjourned to meet at 9 A. M., on Tuesday.
