A. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.

Or,

EW every morning is the love

ΝΕΙ

Our wakening and uprising prove;
Through sleep and darkness safely brought,
Restored to life, and power, and thought.

New mercies, each returning day,
Hover around us while we pray;
New perils past, new sins forgiven,

New thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven.

If on our daily course our mind

Be set to hallow all we find,

New treasures still of countless price
God will provide for sacrifice.

Only, O Lord, in thy dear love
Fit us for perfect rest above;
And help us, this and every day,
To live more nearly as we pray.

Amen.

Collects and Prayers.

(All kneeling, and the Person Officiating first saying, Let us pray.)

I. COLLECT OF THE DAY.

II. COLLECT FOR LOVE TOWARD GOD.

GOD, who hast prepared for them that love thee such good things as pass man's understanding; Pour into our hearts

such love toward thee, that we, loving thee above all things, may obtain thy promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

III.- -COLLECT FOR GRACE.

GOD, forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee; Mercifully grant, that thy holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

IV.- -COLLECT FOR PROTECTION.

LMIGHTY God, who seest that we have no power of ourselves to help ourselves; Keep us both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

[Instead of the last three, may be used the following.]

O LORD, we beseech thee to give us this

day patience in troubles, humility in comforts, constancy in temptations, and victory against all our ghostly enemies. Grant us sorrow for our sins, thankfulness for thy benefits, fear of thy judgments, mindfulness of thy presence. Let thy mercy cleanse us from all

our sins, and let thy grace bring forth in us the fruits of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

V.-INTERCESSION FOR ALL THE BAPTIZED.

LMIGHTY God, who shewest to them that be in error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all them that are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Religion, that they may eschew those things that are contrary to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

A

Thanksgiving.

LMIGHTY God, who hast in all ages shewed thy power and mercy toward those who trust in thee; we yield thee our unfeigned thanks and praise for thy mercies towards us. We beseech thee to give us such a lively and lasting sense of what thou hast done for us, that we may not grow secure and careless in our obedience, by presuming upon thy great and undeserved goodness; but that it may lead us to repentance, and move us to be the more diligent and zealous in all the duties of our Religion. Let truth and justice, brotherly kindness and charity, devotion and piety, concord and unity, with all other virtues, so flourish

among us, that they may be the stability of our times, and make this Church a praise in the earth. All which we humbly beg for the sake of our blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

TH

Benediction.

HE Lord defend you with his providence and heavenly grace. May his fatherly hand ever be over you, and his holy Spirit ever be with you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

[Or, if no Priest be present.]

HE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

THE

TUESDAY EVENING.

THO

Invocation.

HOU that hearest the prayer: unto thee shall all flesh come. My misdeeds prevail against me: Oh be thou merciful unto our sins.

Confession.

LORD God, we confess that we have often dishonoured thy holy Church, into which thou hast received us at our Baptism; And though we have confessed thee with our tongues, we have denied thee oftentimes by our actions. We confess, Lord, that our eyes have been often open to let sin in; That our ears have been often ready to receive sinful discourses; That we have often let loose our tongues; That we have yielded our members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; That we have defiled our hearts by vain and foul imaginations; That we have wasted our time and our talents; That we have not lived answerably to our means of grace; That
