Values of foreign coins.

TREASURY DEPARTMENT, July 1, 1912.

In pursuance of the provisions of section 25 of the act of August 27, 1894, I hereby proclaim the following estimate by the Director of the Mint of the values of foreigr coins to be the values of such coins in terms of the money of account of the United States, to be followed in estimating the value of all foreign merchandise exported to the United States during the quarter beginning July 1, 1912, expressed in any such metallic currencies.

Entries of merchandise liquidated upon the values proclaimed herein will be subject to reliquidation upon the order of the Secretary of the Treasury whenever satisfactory evidence shall be produced to him showing that the values in United States currency of the foreign money specified in the invoices were at the date of certification at least 10 per cent more or less than the values herein proclaimed.

To all officers of the outside services of the Treasury Department: Hereafter all requisitions for letterheads (8 by 10 inches), noteheads (5 by 8 inches), continuation letter paper, and memorandum blocks will be made on the requisition form for "Books and Blanks," and not on Forms Nos. 2162 and 2163, "Requisition for Stationery." Thin linen papers for carbon copies will be furnished on Forms Nos. 2162 and 2163.

Officers are also directed to destroy all Forms Nos. 2184 and 2185 now on hand, and make request for Forms Nos. 2162 and 2163 for use in making requisitions for stationery.

Common carrier.

Approving bond of Pennsylvania Railroad Co. as a common carrier for the transportation of merchandise in bond and for the lading and unlading of bonded goods under the act of February 13, 1911.

TREASURY DEPARTMENT, July 1, 1912. SIR: The department is in receipt of your letter of the 21st ultimo, transmitting a bond, in duplicate, of the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. as a common carrier for the transportation of merchandise in bond and for the lading and unlading of bonded goods under the act of February 13, 1911, said bond being in lieu of that of the company named approved January 29, 1908. The new bond is hereby approved

and one copy thereof is inclosed herewith to be placed upon the files of your office.

You should note the fact and date of the rebonding of the company upon the copy of the bond approved, as above stated, January 29, 1908, now on file in your office, and retain the same without cancellation to meet any liability which may have accrued thereunder. JAMES F. CURTIS,

Approving bond of the Tacoma-Vancouver Steamship Co. as a common carrier for the transportation of merchandise in bond and for the lading and unlading of bonded goods under the act of February 13, 1911.

TREASURY DEPARTMENT, July 1, 1912. SIR. The department is in receipt of your letter of the 17th ultimo, with which was transmitted a bond in duplicate of the TacomaVancouver Steamship Co. as a common carrier for the transportation of dutiable merchandise and for the lading and unlading of bonded goods under the act of February 13, 1911, said bond being in lieu of that of the company named approved June 5, 1909. The new bond is approved hereby and one copy thereof inclosed herewith to be placed upon the files of your office.

You should note the fact and date of the rebonding of the company upon the copy of the bond approved, as above stated, June 5, 1909, now in your possession, and retain the same without cancellation to meet any liability which may have accrued thereunder.

Drawback on arsenate of lead.

Drawback on arsenate of lead manufactured by the Grasselli Chemical Co., of Cleveland, Ohio, and Grasselli, N. J., with the use of imported lead and arsenate of soda wholly or in combination with domestic lead and arsenate of soda.

TREASURY DEPARTMENT, July 1, 1912.

SIR: Drawback is hereby allowed under section 25 of the tariff act of August 5, 1909, and the regulations promulgated thereunder (T. D. 31695 of June 16, 1911), on arsenate of lead manufactured by the Grasselli Chemical Co., of Cleveland, Ohio, and Grasselli, N. J., with the use of imported lead and arsenate of soda wholly or in combination with domestic lead and arsenate of soda.
