*The Credit and Capital Formation Study Team made an in-depth search of the Library of Congress and periodical indices and contacted the Federal Reserve Board and the 12 Federal Reserve Banks and the Center for Women Policy Studies to find reference materials on women entrepreneurs and credit and capital. Very few journal articles, monographs or government publications relating directly and at length to women and commercial loans, bonding, insurance or venture capital and financing were found. The best sources, listed here, had little more than a cursory reference to the problems of women business owners in obtaining financing. The better articles relate to the problems of small businesses in general. Finally, the few excellent articles and other sources on the Equal Credit Opportunity Act presented a thorough analysis of the whole issue of credit discrimination, but dealt primarily with consumer credit.
