Messrs. Jenks and Hamill, a committee from the Assembly, appeared in the Senate Chamber and reported that the Assembly has completed its work and is ready to adjourn.

Mr. Knight offered a resolution, in the words following:

Resolved, That the Sergeant-at-Arms be instructed and authorized to take charge of and perform all duties required by any committee of the Senate that shall conduct any investigation or examination authorized to be performed by said committee during the recess of the Senate.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Pursuant to several laws and concurrent resolutions the Temporary President appointed as members, on the part of the Senate, of the several commissions and special joint committees thereby created or continued, the following named Senators:

Commission to prepare plans for the centennial celebration of the opening of the Erie canal, created by chapter 233 of the Laws of 1924 and continued by chapter 432 of the Laws of 1925, and extended by chapter 778 of the Laws of 1926, Messrs. Hickey and Brown. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission Dr. Henry Moskowitz, George Clinton and William J. Roche.)

Commission to investigation the subject of crime, created by chapter 460 of the Laws of 1926, Messrs. Baumes, Wales (and Knight ex-officio). (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, David S. Taylor, Thomas S. Rice, Colonel George E. Chandler, William Lewis Butcher and Jane Hoey.)

Commission on the acquisition of historic lands, created by chapter 768 of the Laws of 1926, Messrs. Keck, Brown and Thayer. (The Governor appointed as members of the above commission, George O. Slingerland, Rev. John J. Finn and Francis Lynch.) Commission to represent the State of New York at the sesquicentennial exposition at Philadelphia, created by chapter 642 of the Laws of 1926, Messrs. Thayer, Thompson and Whitley. Commission to select a site for and cause the erection of a monument on the Santiago battlefield, created by chapter 144 of the Laws of 1924, and continued by chapter 506 of the Laws of 1926, Messrs. Lipowicz and O'Brien.

Commission to investigate the canal system of the State, created by chapter 213 of the Laws of 1925 and continued by chapter 22 of the Laws of 1926, Messrs. Gibbs, Dick and Wendell.
