SECTION 3. That the school directors of Gaysport school district, Blair county, shall have power to fix the age at which children may admitted to the common schools of said district, at six years. SECTION 4. That so much of the act of incorporation of the borough Repeal. of Gaysport, and of the laws regulating the common schools, so far as relates to the Gaysport school district, hereby altered or supplied, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Authorizing Isabel M'Lear to sell certain real estate.

WHEREAS, Isabel M'Lear, by the last will and testament of her father George Spear, deceased, of Rapho township, in the county of Lancaster, became possessed during her natural life, of a certain piece Preamble. or parcel of land situate in said township, and adjoining lands of Joseph Lytle, senior, William Bretz, senior, Christian Frick and Henry Strickler; said land to go to the children of the said Isabel M'Lear, at her decease, according to the provisions of the said will:

And whereas, The said children are desirous that their mother, the said Isabel M'Lear, should have authority to sell said real estate; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly

AN ACT

For the relief of A. Gibbons, junior, and company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the canal commissioners be authorized to examine and appraise the damage sustained by the cars and merchandize of Messrs. A. Gibbons, junior, and company, at the inclined plane on the Pennsylvania railroad, on or about the twenty-third of December last, in consequence of the breaking of the rope upon the said plane, and to award damages, if any, in any sum not exceeding four hundred dollars, and report to the legislature.

A SUPPLEMENT

To an act to authorize the governor to incorporate the Philadelphia and Reading railroad company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That all the powers and privileges conferred upon the said Philadelphia and Powers. Reading railroad company, by the twelfth section of the act to which this is a supplement, approved the fourth day of April, Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and thirty-three, be revived and continued to the said company, so far as to authorize and empower them, and the said company is hereby authorized and empowered to enter upon and occupy, and appropriate, to and for the use of said company, a certain lot or tract of land, in the city of Reading, in the county of Berks, adjoining other lands of the said company, and being the southern half of lot number two hundred and ninety-eight, bounded on the east by Seventh street, in said city, on the west by a twenty feet alley, and on the north and south by lots of the said company, being thirty feet front, by two hundred and thirty feet in depth, as fully in the same manner, and subject to the same regulations, as by the said twelfth section of the said act of incorporation, the said company was at any time authorized to enter upon, and appropriate in the original construction of said road: Provided, That before the said company shall enter upon and Proviso. appropriate the said lot, the damages shall first have been assessed as herein provided, and paid into the court of common pleas of said county, to be distributed among those entitled thereto, according to law, or invested by due authority of the court.

AN ACT

Further to amend the charter of the chartered fund of the Methodist Episcopal church, in the United States of America.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the proviso attached to the second section of the act, entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the trustees of the fund for the relief and support of the itinerant, and superannuated and worn out ministers and preachers of the Methodist Episcopal church in the United States of America, their wives and children, widows and orphans," approved June eleventh, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two, be and the same is hereby repealed; and that hereafter the clear yearly value or income of the messuages, houses, lands and tenements, rents, annuities, or other hereditaments, and real estate of the said corporation, (which said corporation is now entitled "the chartered fund of the Methodist Episcopal church in the United States of America,") and the interest of the money by them lent, shall not exceed the sum of ten thousand dollars.

SECTION 2. That the board of trustees shall have the power of filling any vacancy or vacancies that may occur in their body, by death, resignation, or otherwise; subject, however, to the approval of the first general conference that may be held after such vacancy or vacancies shall have occurred; and that so much of the provisions of the original charter, and the several supplements thereto, as is hereby altered, be and the same is hereby repealed.

To perfect the charter of the Samaritan beneficial society of the city and county of Philadelphia.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Samaritan beneficial society, of the city and county of Philadelphia, shall have authority to have, hold, purchase, receive, possess, enjoy, and retain lands, rents, tenements, goods, chattels and effects, of whatsoever kind, nature, or quality: Provided, That the clear yearly value, or income of the said society, from such sources, shall not exceed the sum of three thousand dollars.

Amending the charter of incorporation of the Methodist Episcopal church of Easton.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the passage of this act, it shall and may be lawful for all persons otherwise entitled thereto, to be members and officers of the Methodist Episcopal church of Easton, who are citizens and inhabitants of Warren county, New Jersey, in the same manner as citizens of this
