compelled to take up and turn all such lumber through their booms as fast
as the owners of such lumber, wishing to raft the same below said
booms, may desire, and no faster, and be entitled to receive as a toll or
boomage, five cents for each and every board log boomed through said
booms, and a reasonable compensation for all other kinds of lumber,
in proportion to board logs, and to be paid on the delivery of said logs
through said booms as aforesaid; the corporation to retain a lien on all
such lumber, until the toll or boomage shall have been paid: Pro- Proviso.
vided, At all times that no lumber of any description shall be stopped,
except upon the written request of the owner or owners of the same,
and no toll or expense shall accrue to any lumber designed to run, or
to be driven to any point below Lock Haven: a free and unobstructed

SECTION 8. That if any logs shall be boomed, rafted and secured as aforesaid, and no person should appear to claim the same, and pay the Corporation to tolls thereon, it shall be lawful for the corporation, after advertising the advertise unsame sixty days in the towns of Williamsport, Lock Haven and Clearfield, with the marks thereon, if any there be, to dispose of the same to the best advantage, if no owner appear to claim the same; and the owners at any time within two years from said sale, shall be entitled to receive the avails thereof, after deducting the tolls, expenses and necessary charges, but if not claimed within said two years, the proceeds shall be vested in the corporation for their own use.

SECTION 9. That for the purposes aforesaid, the said corporation May purchase, be and are hereby authorized and empowered to purchase, hold and hold and possess possess any real estate adjacent to said boom or booms, or convenient real estate. thereto, with leave to build all such buildings as may be deemed necessary for the convenient management of the affairs of said corporation, and for the same purposes, their agent, and those in their employ are hereby empowered to use and occupy the lands on the shore of said river, so far as may be necessary at the places where said booms are erected, and at such other place or places as may be necessary for rafting and securing logs, and other lumber, and to pass and re-pass on foot to and from said boom or booms, over the lands on both sides of said river, for the purpose of making repairs from time to time, and generally for doing all matters and things necessary for the full accomplishment of the object of this corporation; subject, however, to pay such damages as may arise in the prosecution of such objects or purposes, the damages to be ascertained as in the third section of this act.

SECTION 10. SECTION 2. SECTION 3. AN ACT

Authorizing court of quarter sessions of Beaver county, to vacate certain streets and alleys in the plan of lots laid out by Stephen Stone, in said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the court of quarter sessions of the peace of Beaver county, be and the same is hereby authorized and empowered, upon application by petition, to appoint viewers to view all the streets and alleys laid out by Stephen Stone, near the village of Bridgewater, in said county, and on the report of said viewers to vacate any or all of said streets and alleys, or any portion thereof which may be situated below Wolf lane; and the said court shall proceed therein in the same manner, and in all respects as is directed by the existing laws relating to roads and highways.

To prevent the continuance of liens in the county of Sullivan, by the revival of judgments in the county of Lycoming.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the lien of no judgment shall be continued upon land situate in the county of Sullivan, by the revival of such judgment in the court of common pleas of the county of Lycoming, after the first day of January

next.

AN ACT

To incorporate the First Welch Independent Congregational church, in Pike township, Bradford county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the First Welch Independent Congregational church, in Pike township, in the county of Bradford, and commonwealth aforesaid, is hereby erected into one body, politic and corporate in deed and in law, by the name, style and title of the "First Welch Independent Congregational Style. church and society, of Pike township ;" and by the same name shall have perpetual succession, and be able to sue and be sued in all courts Privileges. of law and elsewhere, and shall be able and capable in law and equity to take and hold lands and tenements, goods and chattels, of whatsoever kind, nature or quality, real, personal or mixed, which now are or hereafter shall become the property of the said corporation, by gift, grant, bargain, sale, conveyance, assurance, will, devise, bequest or otherwise, from any person or persons whomsoever, capable of making the same, and the same to grant, bargain, sell or dispose of: Provided, That the yearly value or income of said real estate shall not at any time exceed twenty-one hundred dollars.

SECTION 2. The affairs of the said corporation shall be managed and Trustees. superintended by six trustees, to be chosen from the members of said corporation, who shall choose from among their own number, a president and secretary, and in case of the removal of the president or any Officers. of the trustees or secretary, by death, resignation or otherwise, the vacancies shall be supplied by the board of trustees until the next annual election; and the following named persons shall be the trustees until others shall be elected, in the manner hereinafter provided, to wit:

John Phillips, Samuel Davis, David Davis, David Davis, second, John Present trustees, Williams and William Howell: the two first to continue in office until term of office. the first Monday in October, one thousand eight hundred and fortynine; the two next until the first Monday in October, one thousand eight hundred and fifty; and the two last until the first Monday in October, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one; on the several days aforesaid, and on the same days, yearly thereafter, the members of the corporation shall, at a general meeting, there elect by ballot, two persons to serve as trustees, to continue in office for three years; and likewise, at the said meeting, the said members of the corporation shall elect other trustee or trustees to fill any vacancy or vacancies that may have occurred, in manner before mentioned; and furthermore, the members of said corporation shall, at the time and place that the trustees are elected, elect some person belonging to said corporation, treasurer of said corporation, to continue in office for one year; and the treasurer so elected, if required by the trustees, shall give sufficient security for the trust reposed in him, and shall account to the trustees for any sum or sums of money received by him or remaining in his hands at any time.
