The Manumitted Slaves in 1850 and 1860; the Fugitive Slaves of 1850 and 1860; and the Indian Population of 1860. All these classes come under the consideration of thoughtful men and women. Those who have been held in the cruel bondage of slavery through an overruling Providence have now become free citizens of the United States, but owing to their having been kept in ignorance during their previous condition as slaves, are now to be educated and sustained by all religious and intellectual influences, and thus honor God and serve the State.
