Navajo-Hepi Land Commission

Appointing Negotiating Team for Acquisition of Selected lands Unde FL94-305

KEREAS:

1. The Navajo Nation made its final selections of lands under FL 96-305 on June 24, 1903, and

2. There is need for a Negotiating Team to represent the Navajo-Hopi Land Commission in negotiations for acquisition of the selected lands.

NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1. The Navajo-Hopi Land Commission hereby appoints named persons as a Negotiating Team to represent Navajo-Hopi Land Commission in negotiations for acquisition of lands selected under PL 96–305:

Mr. Freddie Howard, Chairman
Navajo-Hopi Land Commission

Mr. William G. Lavell, Special Counsel
Navajo Nation Department of Justice

Mr. Don June, Director

Land Parcel Evaluation Project

2. The Negotiating Team is authorized to request assistance from other Departments of the Navajo Nation as needed in these negotiations. The Team shall be given secretarial and other staff support by the Office of Navajo-Hopi Development.

3. The Negotiating Team shall report to the Navajo Hopi Land Commission on the progress of negotiations on a regular basis.

4. Any agreement for the acquisition of selected lands shall be subject to approval of the Navajo-Hopi Land Commission and, where required by Resolution CN-69-80, by the Navajo Tribal Council.

I hereby cartify that the foregoing resolution was dily considered by the Navajo Hopi Land Commission at a duly called meeting at Kindow Rock, (Navajo Nation), Arizona, at which a quorum was present and that same way passat by a vote of 7 in favor, and opposed, this 30th day of ན་ 1983.
