The material presented has been drawn from the detailed data made available by the Tariff Commission, prior to, and during, the negotiations with Argentina, to the Trade Agreements Committee, which is the interdepartmental body charged with carrying out the trade agreements program. Practically all of this information was gathered by the Tariff Commission in compliance with that part of Senate Resolution 334, 72d Congress, 2d Session, which called for a revision of summaries of tariff information previously compiled by the Commission. No information obtained from individual concerns has been used in these digests in such form as to reveal the extent of the operations of such concerns. The introduction consists of an analysis of the agreement, a statement of Argentina's economy, and data relating to trade between the United States and Argentina.
