At 2:41 o'clock, upon motion of Senator Kalama, seconded by Senator Knudsen, the Senate took a recess subject to the call of the Chair.

At 3 o'clock the Senate reconvened.

A Communication (No. 40) from the Governer, informing the Senate that he had signed Acts 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74. 75 and 76, and Joint Resolution regarding the Waikiki Recla mation Commission, was read by the Clerk as follows:

Senate Bill No. 78, Act 68, "An Act relating to furious and heedless driving or riding, amending Sections 3115 and 3116 of the Revised Laws. Senate Bill No. 88, Act 69, "An Act to amend Chapter 28 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii by adding to said chapter a section to be known as Section 389a. House Bill No. 43, Act 70, "An Act to provide for the regulation of barber shops." House Bill No. 78, Act 71, "An Act legitimating children in certain cases, amending Section 2288 of the Revised Laws." House Bill No. 99, Act 72, "An Act to amend Section 2230 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii as amended by Act 19 of the Session Laws of 1905 relating to annulment, divorce and separation." House Bill No. 126, Act 73, "An Act to Appropriate money for the purpose of paying the claims of police officers of the County of Hawaii, Territory of Hawaii." House Bill No. 148, Act 74, "An Act to Amend Section 2566a of Chapter 157 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii, enacted by Section 1 of Act 91 of the Session Laws of 1905." House Bill No. 150, Act 75, "An Act relating to change of name, amending Section 2350 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii." House Bill No. 170, Act 76, "An Act in relation to the licensing of trust companies." House Joint Resolution No. 3, regarding the Waikiki Reclamation Commission.

The Senate met, pursuant to adjournment, at 9:30 o'clock. After prayer by the Chaplain, the Roll was called showing Senator Chillingworth absent.

The Journal of the Forty-Eighth Day was read and, upen motion of Senator Lane, seconded by Senator Coelho, approved as read.

A Communication (No. 231) from the House of Representatives, informing the Senate of the passage of Senate Bill No. 44 notwithstanding the veto of the Governor, was read by the Clerk as follows:
