Senator Makekau gave notice of intention to introduce a Bill entitled "An Act to Amend Act 39 of the Session Laws of 1905, by Adding a new Section in Chapter 4 to be called Section 3A." Under suspension of the Rules, Senator Makekau introduced a Bill (S. B. No. 76) entitled "An Act to Amend Act 39 of the Session Laws of 1905, by Adding a new Section in Chapter 4 to be called Section 3A."

Senator Dowsett moved to amend by striking out the word "therefor" in line 8 of Section I and inserting in lieu thereof the words "of such protest." Seconded by Senater Smith and carried.

Senater Dowsett moved to amend by inserting the words "by the said Public Accountant" after the word "transferred" in line 22 of Section 1. Seconded by Senator Hewitt and carried.

Senator Dowsett moved to amend by inserting the word "final" before the word "decision" and by striking out the words "by the court" in line 24 of Section 1. Seconded by Senator Coelho and carried.

Senator Dowsett moved to amend by inserting the word "final" after the word "the" in line 24 of Section 1 and by inserting the word "cause" in lieu of the word "court" in line 25 of Section 1. Seconded by Senator Lane and carried.

Senater Dowsett moved to insert the words "in which the cause was finally determined" atter the word "court" in line 29 of Section 1. Seconded by Senator Lane and carried.

Senator Dowsett moved as an amendment that the Bill be recommitted to the Judiciary Committee. Seconded by Senator Coelho.

Senator Chillingworth withdrew the motion to defer action on the Bill for one week.

Senator Lane raised the point of order that after the Bill is read through on Third Reading it cannot be recommitted to a Committee.

The Chair considered the point well taken.
