SECTION 2. All of the foregoing items set forth in Section 1, which refer to "Current Expenses of Department Use," shall be subject to the provisions of Sections 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Act 8 of the Extra Session of 1905.

SECTION 3. All of the foregoing items set forth in Section 1, which refer to "Salaries and Pay of Employees," shall be subject to the provisions of Sections 2, 3, and 4 of Act 7 of the Extra Session of 1905.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on the day of its approval.

The Message was ordered referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

A communication (No. 4) from the President of the Board of Health, inviting the Members of the Health Committee and others to visit the Insane Asylum, Kapiolani Girls' Home, Quarantine Station and Kalihi Receiving Station was read by the Clerk as follows:

Sir:-It has been suggested that the Committees on Health and others interested be invited to visit, early in the session, the Insane Asylum, Kapiolani Girls' Home, Quarantine Station and Kalihi Receiving Station.

The President of the Board of Health extends the invitation and will furnish the necssary transportation at such a time and hour as may be designated.

A similar communication has been addressed to the Honorable Speaker of the House.

The communication was ordered referred to the Committee on Public Health.

Under suspension of the Rules, Senator Dowsett for the Committee on Ways and Means reported verbally on the Message (No. 3) of the Governor that the Committee had considered the same and would submit a Bill in accordance with the recommendations contained in the Message.

Under suspension of the Rules, Senator Dowsett on behalf of the Committee on Ways and Means introduced a Bill (S. B. No. 36) entitled "An Act Making Additional Appropriations for the Departmental Use of the Territory of Hawaii."

Senator Dowsett moved that the Bill pass First Reading and be referred to the Printing Committee. Seconded by Senator Coelho and carried.

Under suspension of the Rules, Senator Chillingworth gave notice of intention to introduce a Bill entitled "An Act Relating to Bills of Exceptions and Writs of Error in Crimina! Cases. Under suspension of the Rules, Senator Chillingworth introduced a Bill (S. B. No. 37) entitled "An Act Relating to Bills of Exceptions and Writs of Error in Criminal Cases."

Senator Chillingworth moved that the Bill pass First Reading and be referred to the Printing Committee. Seconded by Senator Knudsen and carried.

At 3:17 o'clock Senator Knudsen moved to adjourn. Seconded by Senator Chillingworth and carried.
