Mr. OWENS presented the petition of Bartlett Red and Samuel Webb, praying compensation for carrying prisoners to Jail;

Also the petition of Dr. S. B. Graham, for post mortem examinations, and for medical services rendered State prisoners; and

Also the account of Dr. John W. Ogilvie for post mortem examinations; which were severally referred to the Committee on Claims.

Also the petition of sundry citizens of Barnwell District, praying that Tinker's Creek be declared a navigable stream; and

Also the petition of sundry citizens of the same district, praying that it may not be declared a navigable stream; which were severally referred to the Committee on Internal Improvements;

Also the petition of Weyhe & Wessels, praying to be refunded a double tax; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means; and

Also the return of the Commissioners of Free Schools for Barnwell District; which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. WAGNER presented the petition of the Intendant and Wardens of the Town of Mount Pleasant, praying the appointment of Commissioners to extend Pitt-street; which was referred to the Committee on Internal Improvements.

Mr. MAYBIN presented the accounts of Drs. J. H. Thomson, J. H. Boatwright, A. W. Kennedy and J. S. Crane; which were severally referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. MCGOWAN presented the memorial of John A. Calhoun, Esqr. President of the "Abbeville School Association," praying that the said

Association may be rechartered; which was referred to the Committee on Incorporations.

Also the Memorial of the Clerk of the Court of Appeals at Columbia, asking an increase of compensation; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Also the Petition of A. Lites, praying compensation for a slave executed; which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Also the Petition of the Commissioners of Public Buildings of Abbeville District, praying an appropriation to build a new Court House and Jail for said District; which was referred to the Committee on Public Buildings.

Also the Petition of sundry citizens of Abbeville District, praying for the establishment of a new road from Asberry Church to Greenwood in said District; which was referred to the Committee on Roads, Bridges and Ferries.

Mr. MCGOWAN submitted the Presentment of Grand Jury of Abbeville District for March Term, 1852.

So much as relates to the erection of a new Jail for the District; to the mode of appointing Commissioners of Public Buildings, and the propriety of the Treasurers of the various Boards of Commissioners giving bond and security, was referred to the Committee on Public Buildings.

So much as relates to the rates of tuition in Free Schools was referred to the Committee on Education.

So much as relates to the proper mode of maintaining public paupers was referred to the Committee on Pensions.

So much as relates to the carrying of concealed deadly weapons, and to the increase of the jurisdiction of Magistrates, was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

So much as relates to the practice of horse racing on the public roads was referred to the Committee on Grievances.

Mr. GREEN presented the Account of Dr. John J. Bossard for post mortem examination of two slaves; which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. GREEN submitted the Presentment of Grand Jury of Sumter District for Fall Term, 1852.

So much as recommends that the jurisdiction of Magistrates in civil causes, in Sumter District, be limited to the extent of the Election Districts in which they reside, was referred to the Committee on District Officers and Offices.

So much as relates to the present condition of the Road in the Santee Swamp, at Vance's Ferry, was referred to the Committee on Internal Improvements.

So much as presents the present condition of the Free School system was referred to the Committee on Education.

So much as presents the practice of carrying concealed deadly weapons was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. VANCE presented the Petition of citizens of Cokesbury, praying an Act of Incorporation; which was referred to the Committee on Incorporations.

Mr. GARLINGTON presented the Petition of James D. Mansfield, praying to be paid arrears of pension; which was referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Also the Petition of the Wardens and Vestry of St. Luke's Church, praying an Act of Incorporation; which was referred to the Committee on Incorporations,

Also the Account of Dr. B. T. Yarborough for a post mortem examination; which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Also the Return of the Commissioners of Free Schools for Newberry District for 1852; which was referred to the Committee on Education. Mr. GARLINGTON submitted the Presentment of the Grand Jury of Newberry District for Fall Term, 1852.

So much as recommends the building of a new Jail, was referred to Committee on Public Buildings.

So much as presents the granting of tavern licenses under the Act of 1849, was referred to the Committee on Roads, Bridges and Ferries.

So much as presents the present Free School system was referred to the Committee on Education, and

So much as presents the carrying of concealed deadly weapons, was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. McKNIGHT presented the Return of the Commissioners of Free Schools for Williamsburg District, for 1852, which was referred to the Committee on Education, and

Also, the petition of sundry citizens of Williamsburg District, praying aid to open a cut; which was referred to the Committee on Internal Improvements.

Mr. A. R. JOHNSTON presented the accounts of Dr. David M. Laffitte, and Dr. N. H. Johnston, praying compensation for post mortem examinations, which were severally referred to the Committee on Claims.
