The House was called to order at 2 P. M., pursuant to adjournment, Speaker Bowen in the chair.

The Journal of Friday, March 16th was corrected and appproved.

Miss Anna Borchers appeared and was sworn in as clerk of the committee on Police Regulations, in place of Mrs. Hettie Gilman, resigned.

On request, leave of absence was granted Mr. Thuenan until Monday afternoon.

On request of Mr. McGinn, leave of absence was granted Mr. Koontz until Monday.

On request of Mr. Sokol, leave of absence was granted Mr. Stratton until Monday.

SPEAKER-Your committee on Enrolled Bills respectfully report that they have this day sent to the governor for his approval, House file No. 56, a bill for an act to authorize the improvement and regulate the use of the Des Moines river, and its bed and banks within the corporate limits of the city of Des Moines.

Also, House file No. 132, a bill for an act to protect game and provide a fund to pay the expenses of prosecutions under this act.

Mr. Carr moved that the rule adopted on motion of Mr. Byers, that no bills be called up out of their regular order on the Calendar be suspended for the afternoon.

Mr. Dows moved to adjourn until 2 P. M. Monday.

A division was called for.

The motion prevailed by a vote of 28 to 26, and the House adjourned until Monday at 2 P. M.

Mr. Prentis called up the motions filed to reconsider the vote on amendments to Senate file No. 165; also, the vote by which it passed to a third reading, and the vote by which it passed the House, and moved that all of said motions be laid on the table.

Mr. Theophilus raised the point of order that the motions were out of order when made.

The Speaker ruled the point not well taken.

The motion prevailed and the motions were laid upon the table.
