Senator Gambell, chairman of the Committee on Judiciary, made the following reports:

MR. PRESIDENT-Your committee have had under consideration Senate joint resolution No. 1, donating certain reports to the Leavenworth Law Library Association, and instruct me to report the same back and recommend its passage, with the following amendments: Add to section one the following proviso: "And provided further, that in case any or all of the volumes of said reports remaining in the State Library shall become lost or destroyed, the same shall be replaced with the corresponding volumes hereby donated."

MR. PRESIDENT-Your committee have also had under considcrrtion Senate joint resolution No. 2, to amend section 13, of article 3, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, and instruct me to report the same back and recommend its passage with the following amendment: Insert after the words "United States," in section 1, the following: "During the term of office for which said justices and judges shall be elected."

Mr. Akin, chairman of the committee of conference on resolutions in reference to newspapers, made the following report:

MR. PRESIDENT-Your committee, to whom was referred the newspaper subject, would respectfully report in favor of the proposition of Messrs. Speer & Ross to furnish copies of the Daily Tribune to each member and officer of both Houses for the session, at the price of one dollar per copy, and ten copies to each member of all laws passed by the Legislature, and published in the Tribune, bound in pamphlet form, within ten days after the Legisla ture has adjourned. The said paper to be of the full size of the Daily Topeka State Record. All of which is respectfully submitted. E. L. AKIN,

Senator Eskridge, by consent, offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That the Governor be respectfully requested to furnish the Senate with any information that may be in his possession respecting the Geological survey of 1864 and 1865.

Senator Manning, by consent, introduced the following resolution:

Resolved, That the Sergeant-at-Arms be, and is hereby, instructed to furnish the President and each member of this Senate with five dollars' worth of postage stamps, with which to pay the postage on various pamphlets, documents and papers to their constituents,

And the question being, Shall the resolution be adopted?

The yeas and nays were demanded and had with the following result:

Resolved, That the Committee on Roads be instructed to report to the Senate a general law, by which State roads may be created and vacated.

The following message from the House of Representatives was received and read:

MR. PRESIDENT-I am instructed by the House of Representatives to inform the Senate that the House has passed Senate bill No. 2, "An act amending 'An act amending an act entitled "An act supplemental to an act entitled 'An act to incorporte cities of the State of Kansas,' approved March 4, 1862," and authorizing the boards of education to issue bonds to purchase school sites, and erect buildings thereon,' approved February 20, 1864."

Also, Senate bill No. 3, "An act to change the location of the State Normal School at Emporia."
