Senator Manning, by consent, offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That the Committee on Militia be ordered to examine into the expediency of publishing an Adjutant General's Report, giving a history, &c., of the various volunteer regiments that Kansas has furnished the General Government, and report at the earliest opportunity.

Senator Eskridge, by consent, introduced Senate bill No. 82, "An act regulating weights and measures."

On motion of Senator Grover,

The Senate went into Committee of the Whole for the consideration of Senate bills Nos. 51, 52 and 59, and House concurrent resolution No. 5, and House bill No. 11, Senator Grover in the chair.

After some time spent therein, the committee rose and through their chairman reported that they have had under consideration Senate bill No. 51, "An act regulating the fees of county surveyors," and recommend its reference to the Committee on Counties and Towns.

Also, Senate bill No. 52, "An act declaring certain days holidays," and recommend its passage.

Also, Senate bill No. 59, "An act in relation to school house sites," and recommend that it be printed.

Also, House concurrent resolution No. 5, in relation to the 16th and 36th sections on Indian reserves, and recommend its passage.

Also, House bill No. 11, "An act to allow the county officers of Wilson county certain privileges," and recommend its passage.

The report of the Committee of the Whole was received. Senate bills Nos. 51 and 52 were ordered engrossed and to a third reading.

House concurrent resolution No. 5, in relation to the 16th and 36th sections on Indian reserves, was taken up,

On motion of Senator Manning,

The Senate went into Committee of the Whole on House bills Nos. 19 and 10, and Senate bills Nos. 53, 54 and 55, Senator Manning in the chair.

After some time spent therein the committee rose and through their chairman reported that they have had under consideration House-bill No. 19, "An act repealing an act entitled "An act to protect the citizens of Linn county from depredations of stock,'" and recommend its passage.

Also, House bill No. 10, "A bill to change an alley in the town of Pardee," and recommend that it be laid on the table.

Also, Senate bill No. 53, "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act respecting bonds, notes and bills of exchange,' approved February 2, 1859," and recommend its passage.

Also, Senate bill No. 54, "An act to authorize compromises by partners and joint debtors," and recommend its passage.

Also, Senate bill No. 55, "An act concerning conveyances," and recommend its passage.

The report of the Committee of the Whole was received. On motion, the report of the Committee of the Whole on House bills Nos. 19 and 10, and Senate bills Nos. 53, 54 and 55 was adopted.

House bill No. 19 and Senate bills Nos. 53, 54 and 55 were ordered engrossed and to a third reading.

Senator Potter, by consent, introduced Senate bill No. 83, "An act to employ an agent for the State of Kansas."

Senator Potter moved that the rules be suspended, and Senate bill No. 83 be read a second time now,

Senator Houston offered Senate concurrent resolution No. 27, memorializing Congress to grant lands to certain railroads. Laid over under the rule.

Senator Legate, by consent, offered the following resolution, which was lost:

Resolved, That the Secretary be requested to return Senate concurrent resolution No. -, concerning National Banks, to the Senate, unless it has been transmitted to Washington.
