On motion of Senator Foote,

The House went into Committee of the Whole for the considsideration of Senate bill No. 30, Senator Foote in the chair.

After some time spent therein, the committee rose and through their chairman reported that they have had under consideration Senate bill No. 30, "An act to provide for the creation and regulation of incorporated companies in the State of Kansas," and recommend its passage.

The report of the Committee of the Whole was received.

The following message from the House of Representatives was received and read:

MR. PRESIDENT-I am instructed by the House of Representatives to notify the Senate that the House has passed House bill No. 7, "An act to vacate certain streets and alleys, and to change the name of St. Marysville to Lyon."

Also, the House has concurred in Senate concurrent resolution No. 25, in relation to printing the Governor's message in German. Also, the House has adopted House concurrent resolution No. 19, in reference to Shawnee absentee lands, in which the concurrence of the Senate is respectfully requested.

prevent swine running at large in Shannon township, Atchison county,'" and instruct me to report the same back and recommend its rejection.

MR. PRESIDENT-Your committee have also had under consideration Senate bill No. 50, "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to encourage the manufacture of salt,' approved March 3, 1863," and instruct me to report the same back with the following amendments, to wit: Insert a new section to take the place of section 6, to read as follows: "Sec. 6. Nothing in this act shall be so construed to prevent the Legislature from diminishing the premium allowed by the provisions of this act after five years from the passage hereof shall have elapsed." And that section 6 be numbered section 7, and with the above amendments recommend its passage. O. J. GROVER,
