Uring the late Seffions of Parliament the following remarkable Publick Bills have been paffed.

No 1. An Act for granting an Aid to his Majefty by a Land Tax to be raised in Great-Britain, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Six.

2. An Act for granting to his Majesty the Sum of One Million, to be raised by way of Lottery.

3. An Act for punishing Mutiny and Desertion, and for the better Payment of the Army and their Quarters.

4. An Act for continuing the Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great-Britain, call'd England, and for granting to his Majefty certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great-Britain, called, Scotland, for the Service of the Year One Thoufand Seven Hundred and Twenty Six; and for the more effectual preventing Frauds and Abufes in the Shipping of Malt for Exportation to Foreign Parts; and for afcertaining the Price of Ale to be fold in Scotland; and for

making good the Deficiency in the Lottery Tickets of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty Four; and for making forth Duplicates of Exchequer Bills, Lottery Tickets, and Orders, loft, burnt, or otherwife deftroyed.

5. An Act for granting an Aid to his Majefty, by laying a Duty upon all Victuallers and Retailers of Beer and Ale within the Cities of London and Weftminster, and the Weekly Bills of Mortality; and for prohibiting their fending Beer or Ale out of their Houfes in any Pots or Veffels less than a Gallon; and alfo for adding One Hundred additional Hackney Chairs to those already licensed; and for applying certain Arrears of former Land Taxes toward the Supply granted to his Majefty for the Service of the Year One Thoufand Seven Hundred and Twenty Six; and for appropriating the Supplies granted in this Seffion of Parliament.

6. An Act for repealing the Duty laid upon Snuff, by an Act made in the Eighth Year of Her late Majefty's Reign, and for afcertaining the Rates according to which the remaining Duties are to be paid; and for giving further Encouragement to the Greenland Fishery.

7. An Act for vesting in His Majesty an Impofition of Two Pennies Scots upon all Ale and Beer brewed and fold in the City of Glasgow, and PriviLeges thereof, for fatisfying the Damages and Loffes which Daniel Campbell, Efq; lately Suffered in a Riot there.

8. An Act for the Improvement of His Majesty's Revenues of Customs, Excife, and Inland Duties.

9. An Act for better fecuring the Monies and Effects of the Suitors of the Court of Chancery; and to prevent the Counterfeiting of Eaft-India Bonds and Indorfements thereon, as likewife Indorsements on South-Sea Bonds.

10. An Act for the Relief of the Suitors of the High Court of Chancery. 11. An Act to prevent unlawful Combinations of Workmen employed in the Woollen Manufactures, and for better Payment of their Wages.

12. An Act to prevent frivolous and vexatious Arrefts.

13. An Act for the better regulating Tryals by Nifi Prius in the County of Middlefex.

14. An Act for continuing an Act made in the Ninth Year of His Majefy's Reign, intituled, An Act for the more effectual punishing wicked and evil difpofed Perfons going armed in Difguife, and doing Injuries and Violences to the Perfons and Properties of His Majesty's Subjects, and for the more Speedy bringing the Offenders to Justice.

15. An Act to prevent Abufes in the making of Bricks and Tyles, and to afcertain the Dimenfions thereof; and to prevent all unlawful Combinarions amongst any Brick-makers or Tyle-makers within Fifteen Miles of the

City

City of London, in order to advance or enhance the Price of Bricks or Tyles.

16. An Act for building a Bridge cross the River of Thames from the Town of Fulham in the County of Middlefex, to the Town of Putney in the County of Surrey.

Of the First and Third of thefe Bills, I fhall take no Notice, they being Bills of Course, and no Alteration in them; the Land-Tax being charged at the fame Rate it has for many Years paft; to wit, 2 s. in the Pound.

N°. 2. The LOTTERT Bill.

THIS Million was not raifed for the current Service of the

Year, but for paying off of the Exchequer Bills iffued out in the 11th Year of his Majefty's Reign, and charged upon the Deduction of 6 d. in the Pound upon all Penfions, Salaries, Wages, &c. paid by the Crown. The Sum then raised by Exchequer Bills was One Million, of which 10,000 l. Principal having been paid off, the remaining 990,000 is to be paid off with the Money raised by this Lottery.
