The journal of January 24th was read and approved.

Mr. Hickey introduced a bill (Int. No. 281) entitled "An act to provide for the creation of a temporary commission for the celebration of the completion of the Buffalo and Fort Erie peace bridge, and making an appropriation therefor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on finance.

Mr. Lipowicz introduced a bill (Int. No. 282) entitled "An act to amend the Surrogate's Court Act, in relation to exemptions for benefit of family," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 283) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to indorsement of commitment papers," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

The Assembly sent for concurrence a bill (No. 99, Rec. No. 2) entitled "An act to amend the State Departments Law, generally," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Westall, and by unanimous consent, said bill was substituted for Senate bill (No. 91, Int. No. 91), now on the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (No. 101, Rec. No. 3) entitled "An act repealing article nine of the Executive Law, relating to the State Historian," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Westall, and by unanimous consent, said bill was substituted for Senate bill (No. 86, Int. No. 86), now on the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (No. 102, Rec. No. 4) entitled "An act to amend the Executive Law, in conformity with the State Departments Law, in relation to the Comptroller," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Westall, and by unanimous consent, said bill was substituted for Senate bill (No. 84, Int. No. 84), now on the order of third reading.

Also, a bill (No. 103, Rec. No. 5) entitled "An act to amend the General Highway Traffic Law, in relation to the printing of such law for distribution," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Westall, and by unanimous consent, said bill was substituted for Senate bill (No. 96, Int. No. 96), pow on the order of third reading.
