That the two Houses shall meet in joint session in the hall of the House of Representatives on Thursday, the 7th day of January, A. D. 1897, at the hour of 10:30 o'clock a. m., for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the election for State officers held on the third day of November, A. D. 1896, as required by the Constitution of this State. The resolution was adopted.
