By way of clarification, this book was originally published in 1887, NOT 1800, which of course would be totally impossible with its sub-topics in its title listing Civil War and Emancipation, Education and Advancement of the Colored Race, their Civil and Political Rights.

Because Google's "feedback" link only contains two little buttons, one for "something on this page is unreadable" and "missing page", I am using this form to make a note that:
This book appears in Google book search as being published in 1800. This is because the publishing date is unreadable; one or both of those "zeroes" is no doubt "9", not zero.
I hope someone from Google reads this and improves their system a little. A system which is, by the way, AMAZING.
