FIRST SESSION.

TUESDAY, January 7, 1834.

THIS being the day fixed by the act of April 23, 1833, for the meeting of the sixth Legislative Council of the Territory of Michigan, the following members appeared and took their seats:

From the first district, consisting of the county of Wayne, JOHN M'DONELL, CHARLES MORAN, ELON FARNSWORTH.

From the second district, composed of the counties of Macomb and St. Clair, JOHN STOCKTON.

From the third district, composed of the county of Oakland, CHARLES C. HASCALL, SAMUEL SATTERLEE.

From the fourth district, composed of the county of Washtenaw, and the country attached thereto, GEORGE RENWICK, ABEL MIL

LINGTON.

From the fifth district, composed of the counties of Monroe and Lenawe, DANIEL S. BACON, LAURENT DUROCHER.

From the seventh district, composed of the counties of Chippewa, Michilimackinac, Brown, Crawford and Iowa, JAMES DUANE DOTY, MORGAN LEWIS MARTIN.

A quorum being present,

On motion of Mr. Stockton,

Mr. M'Donell, of Wayne, was appointed president pro tempore. On motion of Mr. Doty,

John Norvell was appointed secretary pro tempore.

On motion of Mr. Hascall,

Elisha L. Atkins was appointed sergeant-at-arms pro tempore.
On motion of Mr. Millington,

Harvey Chubb was appointed doorkeeper pro tempore.
On motion of Mr. Farnsworth,

Resolved, That a committee of two members be appointed to wait upon the Governor of the territory, and inform him that a quorum of the Legislative Council has assembled, and is ready to receive any communication he may think proper to make to it.
