Page 123 2.74 Allocation of bands of frequencies. Allocations of bands of frequencies to service, such as mobile, fixed, broadcast, amateur, etc., are set forth in article 5 of the General regulations annexed to the International Radiotelegraph Convention (45 Stat. 2850)11 and in the North American Radio Agreement. These allocations will be adhered to in all assignments to stations capable of causing international interference.*t [Rule 204] 2.75 Interference, prevention of. Licensees shall use radio transmitters, the emissions of which do not cause interference, outside the authorized band, that is detrimental to traffic and programs of other authorized stations.*t [Rule 207] 2.76 Frequency standard. The national standard of radio frequency maintained by the Bureau of Standards, Department of Commerce, shall be the basis for all frequency measurements and assignments will be made on the basis of this standard.*† [Rule 205] 2.77 Frequency measurement. The licensee of each station, except amateur, shall provide for measurement of the station frequency and establish procedure for checking it regularly. These measurements of station frequency shall be made by means independent of the frequency control of the transmitter and shall be of such an accuracy that the limit of error is within the frequency tolerance allowed the station.* [Rule 206] 2.78 Emissions. Except for amateur stations, each license and construction permit will specify the type or types of emission that the station is authorized to use, in conformity with the definitions given in article 4 of the General Regulations annexed to the International Radiotelegraph Convention (45 Stat. 2849),12 but special types of emission not specifically defined therein will be designated in instruments of authorization with reference to the nature of service the station is authorized to render.*t [Rule 208] 2.79 Damped wave emission. Except for ship stations under the conditions hereinafter specified, no license will be issued for the operation of any station using, or proposing the use, transmitting apparatus employing damped wave emissions.*t [Rule 209] 2.80 Frequency tolerance. The licensee of each station, except amateur, shall maintain the assigned frequency within the tolerance as set out in the following table: 11 See, however, article 7 of the 1932 Regulations (49 Stat. 2453). 12 See, however, article 5 of the 1932 Regulations (49 Stat. 2451).
