John Chalmers, deceased, praying for the payment of a claim in favor of their ancestor, for property destroyed during the invasion of the city of Washington by the enemy in 1814. Mr. Underwood presented a petition of Carlton Belt, of the State of Kentucky, praying remuneration for a gun, furnished to the soldiers during the last war, who went on the campaign conducted by General Hopkins up the Wabash. Mr. Shields presented a petition of Thomas F. McCanlass, of the State of Tennessee, praying compensation for a horse lost while in the service of the United States, during the last war. Mr. Shields presented a petition of David McCanlass, of the State of Tennessee, praying compensation for his gun, lost in the service of the United States, during the last war.
