Acerca del autor (2010)

Professor Emilio Rivano Fischer holds a Ph.D. in General Linguistics from Lund University in Sweden. He has served as instructor, lecturer and researcher at Lund University, Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, founder and Director of the Ph.D. Program in Concepcion University, and Director of the University of California Language and Culture Program in Chile. He has taught and lectured for many universities, most recently for Stanford University's Chile Program in Santiago. He has published 15 books on various linguistics topics including Native American languages, Spanish grammar, syntax, semantics, morphology, logic, rhetoric, the philosophy of language, and lexicology. Among these are Topology and Dynamics of Interactions, Estructuras del Diálogo, Seven Lessons on Metaphor, Metáfora y Lingüística Cognitiva, Lógica Uno, De las Palabras, De la Argumentación, Lenguaje y Cognición, De las Expresiones Idiomáticas, and Clases de Pensamiento Crítico. His latest works have been in the fields of lexicography, style, and second language learning. This is his third dictionary.
