like Thee. Help me to love and obey my father and my mother; that I may be a child of their love, and an heir of their blessing. Amen.

Hear me, Saviour, meek and mild;

Hear and save a little child.

Farmer.

O LORD, I toil in vain, if Thou dost not bless me. Let me reap what I sow, and receive what I hope for; taking care to employ honestly to my comfort, others' good, and Thy glory what I reap and receive.

As my labour is Eden-work, let me seek innocency in it and with it, being refreshed by Thy blessing and a good conscience. Help me to plough up the fallow ground of my heart by repentance, to receive into it the precious seed of Thy Word, to ask and wait for the dew of Thy grace; that, in the end of the world, I may be gathered into Thy barn. O Thou great Husbandman of souls, teach me this holy husbandry-so to thrive in grace that I may grow rich in glory, through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

Business or work of any kind. O eternal GOD, guide me in all my affairs, that I may be

diligent, just, and faithful in my calling. Bless and prosper my labours, as Thou in Thy wisdom seest most convenient for me; and teach me to be thankful for all Thy mercies.

What I know to be unjust or wrong, let me not do. What I doubt, let me delay, till I can know and do the right. Let neither custom nor the desire of gain lead me against Thy law and my conscience. May I never lose my soul in my work, or give for money of little value what was bought with Precious Blood. May I rather be a beggar in this world, than a bankrupt in the next.

In the way of just dealing Thou canst prosper me. that good way let me ever depend on Thee; that Thou mayest bless me in all that I do, and make me a partaker of Thy heavenly treasure, through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

Servant.

Blessed LORD and Saviour JESUS CHRIST, Who, when Thou wast the Son of GOD, didst take upon Thee the form of a servant: Grant that I may with gentleness of and willingness of mind serve spirit, singleness of heart, those under whom I am placed. Help me to do all

For soul and body freely fed, In all Thy gifts Thy love may see,

And use our strength in serving Thee. Amen.

Journey.

Before a Journey. Let Thy Presence go with me, O LORD, that I may be safe. Guide me, prosper me, and lead me to the end. Let not my sins follow me; but let Thy mercy put them from me, and Thy grace accept me. LORD, save me and mine, and all that travel by land or sea; for JESUS CHRIST's sake. Amen.

After a Journey. O GOD, Who hast been with me, and of Thy great mercy hast preserved me: Make me grateful for all that Thou hast done for me, and accept my praises. LORD, bless me and mine; and grant that, by the guidance and assistance of Thy grace, we may at last arrive at the land of everlasting life; to love, adore, and rejoice

Grant, LORD, that we, with in Thee for evermore; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

PART VI.-FAMILY PRAYERS FOR
A WEEK.

"Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while."S. Mark vi. 31.

76.-SUNDAY MORNING.

In the Name of the + Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Our Father, Which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in Earth, As it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

O GOD, we believe that Thou art here present with us. We are not worthy to come into Thy Presence. But Thou hast called us, and we come to Thee.

LORD, grant Thy servants grace to obey Thee, and help us to give up this holy day to Thy love and service. Pardon our past neglects; take away all the sins of the past week; and let Thy Presence guide us every day.

O LORD, in Whom we live, and without Whom we die: G

kill in us all desires of the flesh, and quicken our hearts with Thy holy love; that we may not regard the vanities of the world, but give our love to Thee above all. May our thoughts and words be of Thee, our works and sufferings all for Thee.

O LORD, teach us to observe the times, and love the places of holy worship which Thou hast appointed. Make us diligent in Thy service, and reverent at our devotions. Grant that, as Thy saints and angels in heaven serve Thee without ceasing; so we may, with them and all Thy saints on earth, serve Thee without fainting; till we all come into the presence of Thy glory, and adore Thee for ever; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

O merciful GOD, increase, we pray Thee, the number and the graces of such as are jealous for Thy glory and for the salvation of sinners. Shew them the true way of teaching, and let Thy blessing be upon their pious work.

Bless Thy Holy Catholic

Church, spread upon the face, of the whole earth. Grant that we may all be, and continue to be, living faithful and obedient members, under CHRIST the Head, in that Church, all the days of our lives and at the hour of our death.

Be pleased to hear the prayers of Thy Church; and grant that, all errors and evils being taken away, she may serve Thee in peace and safety, through JESUS CHRIST our Saviour. Amen.

The LORD bless us and keep us this day; the LORD make His face to shine upon us, and keep us under the shadow of his wings; the LORD lift up the light of His countenance upon us, and give us peace, now and for ever. Amen.

77.-SUNDAY EVENING. In the Name. Our Father. [As on Sunday Morning.] O GOD, Who art the author of all good gifts and the Father of mercies: We, Thine unworthy servants, desire to praise Thy Name for all Thy goodness towards us.

Gracious GOD, Who alone art worthy of all our service: Grant that we may serve and please Thee, as we ought, with all our heart and with all our strength; that, abiding in Thy faith, fear, and

love unto our lives' end, we may be made happy for ever in heaven.

Almighty GoD, Maker and Preserver of all things: Help us cheerfully to commit ourselves and all that belongs to us to Thy merciful care. May we ever look up to Thee for what we want, and be thankful for Thy favours. May we never resist Thy dealings with us, nor despise the means of grace which Thou hast appointed for us.

Grant us an interest in all the prayers of Thy Holy Church, which have this day been offered at the throne of grace.

Blessed be GOD, Who gives us what is best for us, keeps us from dangers, and provides for us what we have not deserved! The good LORD make us mindful of our duty; that we, who often learn how we ought to walk and to please GOD, may continue to do so all the days of our lives; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

May Thy Good Spirit, O LORD, sanctify, govern, and preserve the Church of England, keep all her members from the spirit of error and delusion, guard her faith against the restless attacks of Satan and his agents, and lead us all in the way of life eternal; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

The LORD bless and pre- | best, as it shall please Thee,

serve us this night; the LORD make His face to shine upon us, and keep us under the shadow of His wings; the LORD lift up the light of His countenance upon us, and give us peace and rest in Him; now and for ever. Amen.

78.-MONDAY MORNING. In the Name. Our Father. LORD, Thou hast kept us all our lives unto this day. Help us to spend this day and all the days of our lives in Thy fear and love. May we always do Thy will, and please Thee both in will and deed.

Teach us, O gracious GOD, to begin our works with fear, to continue them with obedience, and to finish them with love; and, after all, to sit humbly down in hope, and with cheerful confidence look up to Thee, Whose promises are faithful, and Whose rewards are without end.

Order our steps, O LORD, that we may not stumble at the uneven ways of the world; but steadily go on to our glorious home; neither complaining of the road, nor turning aside from it.

LORD, Thou knowest what is best for us. Give us, we pray Thee, what Thou wilt, as much as Thou wilt, and when Thou wilt. Do with us in all things as Thou seest

and as is most for Thine honour. LORD, we are Thine: make us ready to do all things that Thou commandest: teach us to live not to ourselves but to Thee.

Supply us and all others with all things that Thou seest to be good; and give Thy blessing to Thy people, for JESUS CHRIST'S sake. Amen.

LORD GOD of Hosts, King most mighty, by Whom kings reign, and in Whose hands are the hearts of kings: Grant unto Thy servant Victoria our Queen, continual health of body and soul; that, her heart always inclining to godly counsels, and all enemies being subdued, we may enjoy perpetual peace and brotherly concord.

Finally, we beseech Thee so to guide us at all times, that we may lead and end our lives in Thy faith and fear, and to Thy glory; through JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

May the Sacred Trinity, + Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, bless us and ours, this day and for ever. Amen.

79.-MONDAY EVENING. In the Name. Our Father. Pardon, good LORD, all our sins. Make us sorry at our hearts for all the evil that we
