CASES DECIDED IN THE SUPREME COURT MICHIGAN FROM JUNE 11 TO NOVEMBER 22 1878 HENRY A. CHANEY STATE REPORTER VOL 39 HARVARD LAW LIBRARY LANSING W. 8. GEORGE & CO., STATE PRINTERS AND BINDERS 1880 SUPREME COURT RULE 32. At a session of the Supreme Court held June 16, 1880, Supreme Court Rule 32 was amended to read as follows: RULE 32.-At noon of the first day of each term the docket shall be re-arranged so as to give precedence to cases in which the printed record shall then have been furnished the Court, unless otherwise directed by stipulation under Rule 28. In no case, except on cause shown, shall an oral argument be permitted unless the printed record shall have been furnished previous to the time of preparing the call on the preceding court day. A case will nevertheless be taken on briefs when reached, if the printed record is then ready for submission; and it shall be at the option of the party not in fault to have the case so submitted, or continued on such terms as to the court shall seem just. In case no printed record is then ready, the case may be affirmed, dismissed or otherwise dealt with as justice may require. At the opening of the argument, and also when cases are submitted on briefs, each party shall furnish to each of the judges, and to his adversary, and to the reporter, clerk and crier, a printed copy of his brief. 7-24-1880 Copyright, 1880, for the State of Michigan, by William Jenney, SUPREME COURT OF MICHIGAN CHIEF JUSTICE JAMES V.
