REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

The following reports of Standing Committees were presented:

On H. B. No. 7, by Mr. Hoogs, entitled "An Act to authorize and regulate the placing of electric wires in the streets of Honolulu," from Mr. Makainai, Chairman of the Committee on Public Lands and Internal Improvements, recommending certain amendments, and that Bill do pass with proposed amendments. Consideration of report postponed, to be taken up with Bill.

On Petition No. 59, by Mr. Aylett, asking for an appropriation of $13,000 for macadamizing and repairing Manoa roads ($10,000 for the lower road, and $3,000 for the upper road), Honolulu, Oahu, from Mr. Makainai, Chairman of the Committee on Public Lands and Internal Improvements, recommending that $5,000 for building and macadamizing lower Manoa road and $3,000 for repairing upper road be inserted in the Appropriation Bill. Consideration of report postponed, to be taken up with Appropriation Bill.

On Petition No. 42, by Mr. Puuki, asking for an appropriation of $14,000 for repairing roads, District of Hanalei, Kauai,

from Mr. Makainai, Chairman of Committee on Public Lands and Internal Improvements, recommending that Petition be granted. Consideration of report postponed, to be taken up with Appropriation Bill.

On H. B. No. 14, by Mr. Kumalac, entitled "An Act to prohibit the Board or Boards of Health, or Health Officer or Officers from condemning for destruction any property without compensation," from Mr. Emmeluth, Chairman of the Committee on Judiciary, recommending that the Bill be laid upon the table. Consideration of the report postponed, to be taken up with the Bill.

On H. B. No. 74, by Mr. Robertson, entitled "An Act to amend Section 11B of Act 39 of the Laws of 1898, relating to the auditing of public accounts and disbursement of public moneys," from Mr. Emmeluth, Chairman of Committee on Judiciary, recommending that Bill do pass. Consideration of report postponed, to be taken up with the Bill.

On S. B. No. 13, by Mr. C. Brown, entitled "An Act amending Section 182 of the Penal Laws, relating to gross cheat," from Mr. Emmeluth, Chairman of Committee on Judiciary, recommending that Bill do pass, with certain amendments. Consideration of report postponed, to be taken up with the Bill.

On S. B. No. 14, by Mr. C. Brown, entitled "An Act to amend Section 174 of the Penal Laws, relating to the offense of receiving stolen goods," from Mr. Emmeluth, Chairman of Committee on Judiciary, recommending the Bill do pass with certain amendments. Consideration of report postponed, to be taken up with the Bill.

On Petition No. 56, by Mr. Puuki, asking for an appropriation to pay expenses of jurors while attending Circuit Court, from Mr. Emmeluth, Chairman of Committee on Judiciary, recommending that the Petition be laid upon the table. Report adopted.

Petition No. 71, by Mr. Puuki, relating to the accumulation of bone-meal, remnants of cattle, meat, etc., from residents of Kapalama and Iwilei, Oahu. Referred to the Committee on Public Health and Education.
