For the company and fire-command practice the time allowed for each score will be the same as in service practice under the provisions of General Orders, No. 100, Adjutant General's Office, 1903, and the intervals between shots will be assimilated to that of service practice for the caliber of gun used.

For fire-command practice the fire commander will distribute and concentrate the fire of the batteries and will designate the number of rounds to be fired during the time the batteries are assigned to a particular target. This time will be observed and recorded.

For company practice at moving targets with direct
fire: A hit on the center third of the material target
scores 1; on the other portions of the vertical
target, .

With the mortars: A hit on the circular target scores 1.
For the fire-command practice each hit by direct fire

on the material target scores 1, and the fire will be
so ordered that the hits from the mortars may be
observed and scored.

A deduction of one hit will be made for each shot fired before the beginning or after the expiration of the time limit for the series.

14. The company records will consist of the record of each score fired, with the name of the gunner, the Forms 31c, d, e, f, and g, from which the plotting may be made, and retained copies of Form 832.

A separate copy of Form 832 for each kind of piece used for subcaliber practice during the quarter, with the data entered as indicated thereon, will be forwarded through the artillery district commander direct to the Chief of Artillery within five days after the completion of the practice. A duplicate of each report forwarded to the Chief of Artillery will be forwarded to division headquarters through the department commander.

The records of the fire-command practice are kept on Form 831 as indicated, one copy of which is retained and the others forwarded as in the case of Form 832.

15. Subcaliber practice will be habitually conducted during the daily drill hour and will be made to interfere as little as possible with routine.

16. Night firing at posts which have been supplied with the Semple shell tracer attached to subcaliber ammunition will be conducted as nearly as practicable according to the above rules.
