On 9-8-94 at 0237hrs F.P.D. made a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of (3) W/M's for weapons offenses. All (3) were dressed in military camo., stating they just conducted night manuevers on Cedar Rd. in Livingston Co.. Further stating they were members of a civilian malitia group associated with the "Michigan Militia” headed by a Mark Koernke in Dexter,Mi..

ON 11/13/94 AT APPROX 0200 HOURS, BRANCH CO DEPUTIES CONDUCTED SURVEILLANCE
ON A RESIDENCE WHERE MILITIA WAS BELIEVED TO BE CAMPING. A SUSPECT VEHICLE
THEN LEFT AND OFFICERS ATTEMPTED TO STOP. SUSPECT VEHICLE FLED AND A 26 MINUTE
PURSUIT ENSUED INTO HILLSDALE CO. THE SUSPECTS DROVE THEIR VEHICLE INTO A LAKE
AND TWO SUSPECTS WERE APPREHENDED. A THIRD SUSPECT (PAUL DARLAND) FLED INTO THE
LAKE AND WAS NOT LOCATED.

THE VEHICLE WAS LOADED WITH SURVIVAL GEAR AND WEAPONS INCLUDING AN AK-47 WITH
100 ROUND DRUM MAGAZINE, AN M-14, A 12 GA SHOTGUN, AND A 7.62 X 25 MM HANDGUN.
ALL WEAPONS WERE LOADED WITH ARMOR PIERCING ROUNDS AND/OR TRACERS. THE SUSPECTS
WERE ALL WEARING SHOULDER HARNESSES AND CAMOFLAGE. THEY ALL HAD 9 MM HANDGUNS IN
THE HARNESSES WITH BLACK TIPPED ARMOR PIERCING AMMO. A ROTTWEILER WAS IN THE
VEHICLE AND WAS SHOT WHEN IT APPROACHED THE ARRESTING OFFICERS.
BODY ARMOR WAS ALSO RECOVERED FROM THE VEHICLE.
