Resolved, That the Canal Commissioners be requested to report to the Senate, as soon as practicable, the estimated expense of raising the canal bridges that are not now nineteen feet from the bottom of the canal, on each division of the canal under their charge; also the probable land damages that will be occasioned by raising the bridges nineteen feet above the bottom of the canal; and also as to the present necessity of raising the bridges to the above height.

Mr. Pratt called for the consideration of the following resolutions: Resolved, (if the Assembly concur,) That our Senators and Representatives in Congress be requested to urge the passage of a law by which books for copyright, in the Southern district of this State, may be deposited of record, in the Library of the New York State Historical Society; and those in the Northern district, in the State Library.
