Monday Evening. Let us humbly confess our sins before the throne of grace. O Almighty and most merciful Father, we confess that we have sinned against heaven and in Thy sight. We are no more worthy to be called Thy children; but do Thou pity, and forgive, and cleanse us from our sins. Remember not how little we have this day grown in grace, and in the knowledge of Thee; but give us this night true repentance, and hearty desires to serve Thee better all the rest of our lives through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen. O God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, hear and pity us. Pardon and absolve us from our many sins; and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Our Father which art in heaven. COLLECT FOR THE WEEK. O Merciful God, we beseech Thee to look graciously on this Thy family: as we are called by Thy great Name, grant that we may be Thy children indeed. Give us a full measure of spiritual gifts; fill our hearts with love for Thee and a sincere desire to promote Thy Kingdom upon earth: make us fear to offend Thee, who art so gracious and merciful. In our thankfulness for Thy love and kindness may we show pity unto others in our gratitude for our own forgiveness may we forgive others. Mercifully accept our unworthy prayers; look not upon our faltering lips, but heal our infirmities for Thine own mercies' sake in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. we pray to us. O Lord God, who hast permitted us sinful creatures to call Thee Father, and who in ever-watchful Providence sustainest all the works of Thy hands; Thee to continue Thine abundant mercies Withdraw not Thy hand from us, but give us what Thou seest good for us, and inspire our hearts with a spirit of true submission and contentment. Let Thy holy angels watch around us to keep us this night from all peril or harm: let them ever minister to us, and succour us in all our wants and necessities: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. We offer before Thee, O Lord, our humble intercessions for all mankind. Bless and guide Thy holy Church and inspire it with truth and unity. Save and defend all Christian kings and governors, especially those who bear rule in this land Give Thy grace to the clergy, that they may faithfully perform the work appointed for them. Have mercy upon the widow and orphan, the sick and B afflicted; pour upon them Thy loving pity, and give them true comfort and refreshment. Especially we pray for all whom Thou hast connected with us as friends or relatives. Give to each and all according to their needs, and grant that all may faithfully use to Thy glory the gifts which Thou givest through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. To these our prayers, O God, we would add our unfeigned praises to Thy holy Name for all the mercies and blessings of this day and all the days of our lives past. Grant, we beseech Thee, that we may show forth our thankfulness by striving henceforth to serve Thee more faithfully, and endeavouring to do all to Thy honour and glory: through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with Thee and the Holy Ghost be all honour and glory now and for evermore. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost be with us all evermore. Amen. Tuesday Morning. Let us join in humble confession of our sins before the throne of grace. Have mercy upon us, O God, after Thy great goodness; and according to the multitude of Thy mercies do away our offences. Wash us thoroughly from our wickedness; and cleanse us from our sin. For we acknowledge our faults; and our sin is ever before us. But turn Thou Thy face from our sins; and put out all our misdeeds. Make us clean hearts, O God, and renew right spirits within us. Cast us not away from Thy presence; nor take Thy Holy Spirit from us. Hear us, O merciful Father, and accept our confession for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen. The Almighty and Merciful God grant to us pardon, absolution, and remission of all our sins. Amen. Our Father which art in heaven. V. O Lord, let Thy mercy lighten upon us. COLLECT FOR THE WEEK. Glory be to Thee, Lord God Almighty, for renewing Thy mercies to us every morning. Glory be to Thee for refreshing us during the night past with quiet sleep, and for preserving us from the perils of darkness. Continue Thy goodness to us throughout this day: take us under the protection of Thy good Providence, and let Thy grace accompany us, whatsoever we do, and whithersoever we go. Be thou, O Lord, within us to strengthen us; without us, to guard us; over us, to shelter us; before us, to guide us. Keep us pure and undefiled in all things, that we may walk worthy of our Christian profession, and adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour, for His merits' sake. Amen. O Blessed Lord, whom without faith and firm trust we cannot serve, increase in us Thy humble servants the light of a true and sincere faith. We believe in Thee, we trust in Thee; do Thou help our unbelief, strengthen and confirm our weak trust. Enable us to embrace all that Thou hast revealed for our salvation, and to do whatsoever Thou willest us to do. Remove from us all difficulties: help us to look ever unto Jesus, that we may not deny by our lives the Faith which we profess with our mouths. Kindle also this faith in those who are still unbelievers, that all may more fervently worship and adore Thee, O Blessed Trinity, who livest and reignest for ever and ever. Amen. |
