Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in General Court assembled, and by authority of the sume, as follows: SECTION 1. The inhabitants of the town of Somerville shall continue to be a body politic and corporate, under the name of the City of Somerville, and as such shall have, exercise, and enjoy all the rights, immunities, powers, and privileges, and shall be subject to all the duties and obligations now incumbent upon and pertaining to the said town as a municipal corporation. SECT. 2. The administration of all the fiscal, prudential, and municipal affairs of the said city, with the government thereof, shall be vested in one officer, to be called the mayor, one council of eight, to be called |
