"Mr. President: Inasmuch as the printed Journal is on the desks of the Senators, and the reading of the minutes is thus rendered unnecessary, I move that the reading of the minutes, as prepared by the Secretary, be permanently dispensed with."-KIECHEL.

Mr. President:

"I am directed by the House to inform your honorable body that it has adopted the following resolution:

Whereas: During past sessions of the Nebraska Legislature there has been great waste of public money in printing bills of different members covering the same ground, and during the session of 1913 this resulted in the printing of 112 bills in duplicate and a number in triplicate, therefore be it

Resolved: That after first reading all House bills be referred to a committee consisting of the Chief Clerk or Assistant Chief Clerk of the House, the chairman of the rules committee and the Director of the Legislative Reference Bureau, for the purpose of eliminating such duplicates either by writing in one House bill under the names of all its sponsors all bills covering the same ground, or by reporting back to the House for indefinite postponement all bills which are duplicates of those already printed.

Resolved: That a copy of these resolutions be transmitted to the Senate asking its co-operation in this plan to save the state the expense of useless printing."-RICHMOND.
