Eighty-second District, being the counties of Palo Alto

and Clay;

Ninety-first District, being the counties of Winnebago and Worth.

And I do further proclaim and give notice that at said general election judges of the district court will be chosen by the electors of the judicial districts named below respectively, to fill vacancies caused by resignation, towit:

In the Third Judicial District, to succeed William H. Tedford, which judgeship is now held by Robert L. Parrish, under appointment by the Governor.

In the Eleventh Judicial District, to succeed Silas M. Weaver, whose resignation as Judge of said District will take effect on the thirty-first day of December in the present year.

Whereof, All electors will take due notice, and the Sheriffs of the several counties will take official notice, and govern themselves accordingly.

Another harvest season is closing, and the year has been crowned with God's goodness. Neither famine, nor pestilence, nor other material or physical misfortune has visited Gratitude becomes a wise and God-fearing people. Therefore, in harmony with custom, and in accordance with the proclamation of the President of the United States, Thursday, November twenty-eighth, is hereby designated as a day of thanksgiving and prayer. Let each church and every home be an altar of praise to Him who hath promised that "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

OFFERING A REWARD

NOVEMBER 30, 1901

Whereas, Information has been received at the executive office of the state of Iowa to the effect that about the middle of October last past, one Samuel Crafton, came to his death in the county of Sioux in this state under circumstances that indicate that the crime of murder was com. mitted:

And Whereas, The person or persons who committed such crime have not been apprehended, and are yet at large;

Now therefore, I, Leslie M. Shaw, Governor of the State of Iowa, by virtue of authority vested in me by law, do hereby offer a reward of Two Hundred and Fifty dollars, for the apprehension of the person or persons guilty of such murder, and his or their delivery to the proper authorities to be dealt with according to law, the same to be paid upon conviction of the party so apprehended.

Whereas, I have received intelligence which satisfies me that the crime of murder has been committed in the county of Tama, whereby John Smith an officer of the peace in the town of Chelsea, came to his death on Friday, the sixth day of December instant:

Now, therefore, in the furtherance of the cause of public justice, I, Leslie M. Shaw, Governor of the State of Iowa, by virtue of authority in me vested by law; do hereby offer a reward of Two Hundred & Fifty Dollars for the appre hension of the persons, or either of them, guilty of such crime, and their delivery to the authorities of said County the same to be paid upon conviction.
