RESOLUTION of the Board of Supervisors of the county of Jackson, in relation to Swamp Lands.

At a meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the county of Jackson, held at the Clerk's office in the village of Jackson, on Wednesday the 7th day of Jan., A. D. 1857, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:

Resolved, By the Board of Supervisors of the county of Jackson that our Senator and Representatives in the State Legislature be requested to use their influence to procure the passage of an act whereby the land donated to this State by the General Government, known as Swamp Lands, or the proceeds of the sales of which, shall be exclusively appropriated to the support of common schools, and that the clerk be instructed to cause a copy of this resolution to be furnished to each of our members in the Legislature.

I certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Jackson County.

SIR-In obedience to the request of the House, expressed in resolution passed on the 22d January, I have the honor herewith to transmit you copies of the opinion of the Attorney General, as also of the decision of the Board of Auditors, in regard to the claims of the "Circuit Judges for traveling expenses."
