To the public.

A pocket Edition of the most celebrated writings of the classical Authors of England, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, has long been wished for by men of taste and good breeding, in all ranks of society; it will especially by agreable to travellers, students and young merchants. The choice collection we are intended to publish, will combine with a selection of the most preferable writings, correctness of text, neatness of form, and a beautiful print and paper, by which means the publishers imagine to be persuaded to flatter themselves with some certainty of the approbation and favorable acceptation of the public. The present volume is offered as a specimen of the following, which will by exactly the same in form etc. in every respect.

The Authors from whose productions, only what is acknowledged as the very best, will be inserted in the present edition, and will be printed in the following cronological order:

Until the completion of the whole a prenu. meration will exist, viz. for a volume in boards, 9, and if in sheets 8 gr. Each volume can be had separately from every respectable Bookseller.
