Thereupon the president of the joint convention declared the following named officers to be duly elected :

Sixth Judicial District........................................J. B. Banes.

Mr. Lamaster moved that a committee of five be appointed to wait upon the governor and inform him that the convention had finished its business, and asking if he had any further communication to make to the legislature.

The president appointed as such committee, Messrs. Lamaster, Chapman, Olinger, Clark and Howe.

The committee retired, and subsequently returned and reported that the Governor had no further communication to make to the legislature.

Mr. Hoyt moved that the president and secretary of the joint convention be requested to furnish a certified copy of vote for member of congress and state officers to the governor, and to issue certificates of election to the officers elect.

Which motion prevailed, and it was so ordered.

On motion of Mr. Hastings, of Lancaster, the convention adjourned.

The senate returned to the senate chamber and was called to order by the president.

Mr. Chapman offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That the secretary of the senate be and is hereby instructed to prepare the journals of the senate of the twelfth and thirteenth sessions, for publication.

Mr. Lamaster offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That the thanks of the senate be and are hereby tendered to Hon. Guy C. Barton, president of the senate, for the able and impartial manner in which he has presided over the deliberations of the senate during the present session.

On motion of Mr. Hoyt, the senate adjourned sine die.
