The subcommittee met, pursuant to notice, at 9:40 a.m., in roo1 1302, Longworth House Office Building, Hon. Thomas S. Fole (chairman of the subcommittee) presiding. The Subcommittee on Wheat, Soybeans, and Feed Grains meet today to consider matters relevant to the wheat, feed grains, an soybeans portions of the 1981 farm bill. We have a number of witnesses scheduled this morning and the will be called to testify in two panels. The first panel, the whea panel, will consist of six witnesses. After hearing each witnes individually, the witnesses will be asked to remain at the witnes table. Following the testimony of all of the witnesses on the whea panel, members of the subcommittee will be invited to question those witnesses. Second, this morning we will have a feed grains panel, which will consist of five witnesses, who will be testifying with respect to feed grains in particular. Following their testimony each one wil be asked to remain at the witness table, and questions of the members will be taken at that time. This afternoon, starting at p.m., we intend to hear witnesses on the soybean panel followed by a general discussion with witnesses from various associations and individual producers.
