The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Stranahan, from the committee on affairs of cities, reported said bill amended as directed, and the same was ordered reprinted and placed on the order of third reading.

Mr. Brackett offered the following:

Resolved, That Senate Rule No. 45 be amended by adding thereto, "On a motion to suspend several rules for the purpose of reading and passing a bill out of its order, it shall not be required that a separate vote be taken on the suspension of each rule, but the vote shall be taken as to all the rules named in the notice on one roll-call."

Ordered, That said resolution be referred to the committee on

rules.

The Assembly sent for concurrence a resolution in the words following:

Resolved (if the Senate concur), that a respectful message be sent to the Governor requesting the return to the Assembly of Assembly bill No. 2002, entitled "An act to authorize the commissioners of the sinking fund of the city and county of New York to renew a lease of certain lots to the Orphans' Home and Asylum of the Protestant Episcopal Church in New York" (Rec. No. 527), for the purpose of transmitting the same to the mayor of the city of New York.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk return said resolution to the Assembly, with a message that the Senate have concurred in the passage of the same.

The Assembly returned the bill (No. 826, Senate reprint No. 1315) entitled “An act in relation to the construction of a bridge over or across the mill pond in the Thirty-first and Thirty-second wards of the borough of Brooklyn in the city of New York” (Rec. No. 82), with a message that they have concurred in the amendments of the Senate thereto.

Ordered, That the Clerk return said bill to the Assembly.

Mr. G. A. Davis offered the following:

Resolved (if the Assembly concur), That a respectful message be sent to the Governor, requesting the return to the Senate of the bill (No. 1062) entitled "An act to amend section 759 of the Code of Civil Procedure, relative to the argument of appeals " (Int. No. 168), for the purpose of amendment.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said resolution to the Assembly and request their concurrence therein.

The Assembly returned the above resolution, with a message that they have concurred in the passage of the same

The Assembly bill (No. 692, Senate reprint No. 1385) entitled "An act to confer jurisdiction upon the Court of Claims to hear, audit and determine the alleged claim of The E. G. Bernard Company against the State for damages alleged to have been sustained by them, and to render judgment therefor " (Rec. No. 363), was read the third time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to the final passage of said bill, the same having been printed and upon the desks of the members in its final form for three calendar legislative days, and it was decided in the affirmative, a majority of all the Senators elected voting in favor thereof, and three-fifths being present, as follows:
