An Act making Appropriations for the Support of Government, for the Year one thousand feven hundred and ninety-four.

E it enacted by the Senate and House of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congrefs affembled, That for defraying the expenditure of the ciSpecific vil-lift of the United States, for the year one appropria thousand feven hundred and ninety-four, to- fupportof gether with the incidental and contingent ex- governpenfes of the feveral departments and offices 1794. thereof; and for making good deficiencies for the fupport of the civil-lift establishment; for aiding the fund appropriated for the payment of certain officers of the courts, jurors and witnesses; for the fupport of light-houses, and for other purposes, there be appropriated a fum of money not exceeding five hundred and twenty-one thoufand four hundred and fortyfeven dollars and twenty-four cents; That is to say:

For the compenfations granted by law to the Prefident and Vice-Prefident of the United States, thirty thousand dollars:

For defraying the expenfes of profecutions for offences against the United States, and for the fafe keeping of prifoners, four thousand dollars:

For compenfation to the Secretary of State, clerks, and perfons employed in his office, fix thoufand eight hundred dollars:

For expense of stationary, printing, and all other contingent expenfes in the office of the Secretary of State, including the expense which will attend the publication of the laws of, the first feffion of the third Congrefs, and for printing an edition of the fame, to be distributed, according to law, two thoufand and fixty-one dollars, and fixty-feven cents:

For making good a deficiency in the appropriation of the year one thoufand feven hundred and ninety-three, for extra-fervices of clerks in the office of the Secretary of State, in preparing documents for Congrels, and for an

For compenfations to the feveral loan officers, thirteen thousand two hundred and fifty dollars:

For defraying the expenfes of the several loan officers, for stationary and clerk-hire, between the first day of March, and the thirty first day of December, one thousand seven hundred and ninety-three inclufive, the fum of feventeen thoufand three hundred and feventy-feven dollars and feventy-five cents:

For compenfation to the Secretary' of War, clerks and perfons employed in his office, feven thousand and fifty dollars:

For expenfes of firewood, ftationary, printing, and other contingent expenfes in the office of the Secretary of War, eight hundred dollars:

For replacing a fum of money advanced at the Bank of the United States, for the purpose of an importation of copper, to be coined at the mint, ten thousand dollars:

For defraying the expense of copper, purchafed in the year one thoufand feven hundred and ninety-three, feven thoufand three hundred and fifty dollars :

For the purchase of copper, in the year one thousand feven hundred and ninety-four, feven thousand three hundred and fifty dollars:

For compenfations to the governors, fecretaries and judges of the territory north-west, and the territory south of the river Ohio, ten thousand three hundred dollars:
