Sec. 11. And where the caufe of action or complaint fhall arife or accrue more than fifty miles diftant from the nearest place by law established for the holding of a diftrict-court, within the diftrict, in which the famé fhall arife or accrue, fuch fuit and recovery may be had, before any court of the state holden within the faid diftrict, having jurifdiction in like cafes.

Limitation

Sec. 13. And be it further enacted, That of this act this act fhall continue and be in force, for the term of two years, and from thence, to the end of the next feffion of Congress, and no longer.

ESOLVED by the Senate and House of Reprefentatives of the United States of America, in Congrefs affembled, two-thirds of both Houses concurring, That the following article be propofed to the legislatures of the feveral ftates, as an amendment to the conftitution of the United States; which when ratified by three fourths of the faid legislatures, fhall be valid as part of the faid conftitution, viz:

The judicial power of the United States fhall not be conftrued to extend to any fuit in law or equity, commenced or profecuted against one of the United States by citizens of another state, or by citizens or fubjects of any foreign ftate.
