It is a book for all who want information on any of these great practical questions. The addresses are carefully prepared and revised by the authors, and are filled with information and incidents. The authors are nearly all engaged in actual work in the fields of which they speak. The book should be in every public library. A full table of contents is supplemented by a carefully prepared index.

A special feature of the book is a series of ten tables, compiled by the Hon H. R. Waite, Special Statistician United States Census, and the Hon. John Eaton, United States Commissioner of Education, giving complete data upon the illiterate and educational status of the United States and each State and Territory, and also of the South as a section.
